    Healing Your Inner Emptiness
    Healing Your Inner Emptiness

    Psychotherapy
What do you think causes you to feel bare inside? Is it the lack of people in your life and what they're not doing, or that we haven't fulfilled a dream we've extended had? When I was younger, I had no clue about what was important to me or how I was feeling. I had been taught to tend everyone around me as well as learned to ignore my own inside voice. I had abandoned my most important relationship ...my romantic relationship with myself and I did not know what it meant to love and also support 'me'.

    Holistic Health
I've worked with a lot of people who feel empty inside. They often think something can be missing in their lives and strive to focus on life outside of them selves instead of looking inward. Normally, I hear: "I am disappointed because I don't have or even get enough ... "

     attention

     love

     sex

     money

     approval through family

     approval from friends

Does this sound familiar to you? Many of us make an effort to rely too much on other folks or things to meet each of our needs and fulfill people vs. focusing on loving and also supporting ourselves and achieving our own needs. This usually looks like blaming others (as well as things) for where were at in our lives.

my life would have meaning if I stood a partner

I am stuck on this job (that doesn't fulfill me) because I have a family to give

she took the only man I've ever loved, or the only task I have ever wanted

my partner will not marry me, ...he doesn't provide me with enough stimulation and I am bored

Life is dull, and nothing excites me

Do you ever hear yourself thinking these kinds of thoughts, or reflecting examples like these to others? We certainly have, but understand that none of these excuses trigger inner emptiness. People who experience empty inside generally experience themselves as flawed. There is a core wounding and worthiness issue that stems from hard-wired beliefs about who were. We lack a sense of worthy to have what we want. Usually, our unnecessary fears along with hostility from others result in us to come to conclusions similar to, "there is something seriously wrong with me at night. ...I am not enough". We're bad, limited, selfish, unlovable, un-important ...always wrong. Each of our wounded self operates from a core of shame and it is a powerful force.

Negative thoughts along with unconscious core beliefs cause people to engage in unhealthy pursuits and behaviors. People use processes or substances just as one addict who's attempting to fill a large dark and vacant well. We cause our own emptiness through our own self-judgement. We abandon ourselves through numbing our feelings or ignoring our need to eat, sleep or even go to the bathroom by staying in each of our head and ignoring might know about feel. When we believe we are really not good enough we'll turn our focus outside of ourselves and strive to make other people responsible for adoring and supporting us. Many of us seek attention through might know about wear, caretaking, niceness, over-talking or story-telling. We use sex to feel fine with ourselves but turn out feeling more empty.

What exactly are some things you do that distract from being present to who you are and what's best for you? Have you ever observed yourself using unhealthy habits that have become a bad habit? Method activities like anger, blame, over-shopping, over-spending, over-working, over-eating, over-exercising, on-line games, email, gambling, internet, phone, or watching too much television? What about substances like: foods, sugar, alcohol, cigarettes or drugs? While these may work for some in the second, it won't be long before the pain regarding separation is back. The problem wonderful these choices is that they just address the symptom of inside emptiness and not the underlying cause. They are not healthy solutions.

As an grown-up, its important to separate on your own from negative projections from a past that have no genuine basis in what's genuine for you today. Take the power back! ...don't let remains of negative energy (via others) run your life.

Inner emptiness is caused by a not enough connection to the love you experience inside and to spirit.

What is actually missing is the love returning through us and long forgotten passions that give us all a sense of purpose in the world. Inside emptiness is caused by self-abandonment rather than caring for, nor loving yourself enough. It is not caused by something or anyone outside of all of us. The only thing that truly fills the particular emptiness is Love for your self, for others and towards something that gives you a sense of passion along with a higher purpose in your life. Today you are in charge of your contentment and your destiny. Happy, folks have learned to meet their own wants and to make themselves important.

So how do we do it?

By shifting your attention and focus inward.

Take time to get to know what's vital that you you by getting in touch with all those feelings about things in your daily life.

Take a good look at your relationship, your relationships, what your are eating, how you're sleeping, where you work and your home environment. Notice what is reflected back to you and the way you feel about it. How are these things serving you? ... and when they are not, what are you gonna do to change them?

When a person hear yourself ask for something you need, attend to your needs.

If you don't such as going to the gym (and you're destined to be watching the clock the whole time your there), ...don't move! I've been there, ...do something different. Try something new!

If you are not associated with your companies mission declaration, it's slowly killing you to work there!

Feeling depressing, perhaps it's your environment wanting to share something with you. Re-paint your walls to reflect more delight, ...take the curtains down and also let more light in!

Love yourself as well as others through higher self-care practices on a daily basis. Small-steps lead to big-change!

Live life to the fullest and enjoy the course of action and learning that can be acquired from trying something very different and a new adventure!
